CSJ Reaches Out
Effective use of the Internet is an important goal for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. It strengthens our outreach by letting us meet people on their terms -- giving them the information they want, when they want it. Another important goal is stewardship of financial resources. We wanted a site that would provide excellent service at a reasonable cost; the ideal would be a technologically advanced site that we could maintain.
Response by Bryan Consulting Inc.
The solution came from Bryan Consulting, a firm of senior professionals in technology and communication. They develop and host sites that use a Content Management System (CMS) on their servers. They helped us set communication goals and strategies, planned the content architecture and usability, and teamed with WebSanity and Intaglio for user-interface and visual design.
Timely Editing
Next-generation sites use a CMS to eliminate the need to construct pages one at a time and have specialists make updates. Bryan Consulting's CMS stores content in a database and displays it in a template to create pages. The CMS lets us do the editing. We update all parts of the site, create new pages, add photos, even change the navigation, working in plain English with no special tools or technical skills.
