CSJ Reaches Out

Effective use of the Internet is an important goal for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. It strengthens our outreach by letting us meet people on their terms -- giving them the information they want, when they want it. Another important goal is stewardship of financial resources. We wanted a site that would provide excellent service at a reasonable cost; the ideal would be a technologically advanced site that we could maintain.

Response by Websanity

Our goal is to give people the information they want, when they want it. We keep the site current by using a Content Management System (CMS) that enables us to edit the content or add pages at any time, by typing in plain English. Our site was developed by WebSanity; it uses their CMS and is hosted on their servers at a national data center.

Timely Editing

Next-generation sites use a CMS to eliminate the need to construct pages one at a time and have specialists make updates. Websanity's CMS stores content in a database and displays it in a template to create pages. The CMS lets us do the editing. We update all parts of the site, create new pages, add photos, even change the navigation, working in plain English with no special tools or technical skills.
